CROP Hunger Walk in Ocean City, Sunday, May 22

Posted on May 16, 2011

St. Paul’s By the Sea in Ocean City, Maryland, and other local congregations, are working to end hunger one step at a time. You can help by participating in the Third Annual Ocean City CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, May 22, 2011.

Obtain pledges from your family, friends and neighbors, and join St. Paul’s and the other sponsors for a three-mile walk-a-thon on the beautiful Ocean City Boardwalk. It will be good for your heart and for your soul. CROP means Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty.

The CROP Hunger Walk will be on Sunday, May 22. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s By the Sea, at the corner of Baltimore Avenue and 3rd Street in Ocean City, one block off the boardwalk. The walk will begin at 2 p.m. on the boardwalk at 3rd Street, and progress north to the end of the Boardwalk and back. The afternoon culminates with an ice cream social in Dewees Hall at St Paul’s by the Sea, and a drawing for door prizes. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 participants who have raised $25 or more in pledges.

Those who cannot walk the three-mile route on the boardwalk will still be able to participate by spending an hour and a half rocking on the porch of the Lankford Hotel on the boardwalk between 8th and 9th Streets.
