Serendipitous Spring Sunshine for Easter Weekend in Ocean City

A Little Traveling Music, Please

Kind of makes you want to get in the car and drive, doesn’t it?

Serendipity-doo-dah-day! How often do we get this unseasonably warm weather so early in the Spring? And on a long holiday weekend! What are the odds?

This is shaping up as a way above-average Easter weekend in Ocean City. We have people aplenty in town already, and until a few minutes ago, it was only Thursday.

Is it really going to hit 91 in D.C. on Friday, the second day of April?  That’s what they say. I hope those bodacious cherry blossoms don’t wilt. And 82 in Norfolk, and 80 in Baltimore?

Hey, if you want to escape that big-city heat, come enjoy the sunshine in Ocean City, Maryland. Friday is going to be our third day in a row of 68 to 70 degree temps and wall-to-wall sunshine. That’s about 10 degrees above average for the beach, this time of year. Saturday will be the same, only a few degrees cooler, around 65.

Lots of peeps on the Ocean City beach Thursday, soaking in the sunshine, some even testing the water with a toe. Bike rentals doing a roaring business on the Boardwalk.  (For the record, the surf is about 45 degrees, much too cold for swimming.)  But our indoor pool was full of kids this evening — no school on Good Friday.

Oh yeah. Easter Art and Craft Fair at the Ocean City Convention Center, Friday, Saturday, and Easter Sunday.

And a sport card show, to benefit Children’s House By The Sea, also at the Convention Center, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday only.
