Blizzard Winds Possible Throughout Maryland

Posted on February 10, 2010

Amazing.  Today, Feb. 10, 2010, the entire state of Maryland is under a blizzard warning! When was the last time that happened?

2009-20010 is now officially the snowiest winter on record in the Baltimore region, and it’s still snowing.

Right now, strong wind gusts are throughout the Eastern Shore, blowing the snow. Fog and wind warnings posted on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Wind gusts of 60 mph possible on the Shore and in Central Maryland.

State highway crews describe road conditions as “beyond treacherous,” WBAL-TV is reporting at lunchtime.

At midday, the center of the low-pressure system is reported over the Atlantic Ocean, not far offshore from the Eastern Shore of Virginia north of the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, and moving northeast.
