Super Bowl Halftime — Bruce Springsteen or Maryland Lottery?

Posted on February 2, 2009

On behalf of Maryland Super Bowl viewers, or at least Super Bowl viewers in Ocean City, was it really necessary to put the winning Maryland Lottery numbers up on the screen during Bruce Springsteen’s halftime performance?

Who made this decision, WBAL-TV, or the local cable company?

(Oh, the game?  It was a pretty good game. Maybe only the best ever. A 100-yard sprint with hot pursuit but no looking back! He could have run forever. We’ll be watching that one on the highlights for the rest of football history. And earlier, there was the long defensive team touchdown with all the right blocks.)
