Ocean City Officials Deadly Serious About Spending Cuts

The Mayor and City Council and staff took a cold, hard look at Ocean City government spending during an all-afternoon work session at City Hall on Tuesday.

Town officials, both elected and appointed, made clear that they are on a mission to cut spending to the max. Of course, there are differences of opinion about how to proceed. The Ocean City officials are in the early stages of preparing their response to the economic crisis and uncertainty of the times. The same kind of budget scrutiny is going on in town halls and state capitals in Maryland and all across the country.
