It’s May, and the Ocean City, Maryland, season begins. As with everything in these times of change, the Ocean City business and tourism season opens with a sense of uncertainty.
Two interesting, low-key events are scheduled for Saturday, this first weekend in May. The Beach Cleanup begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at 37th Street. (Community service hours for students!)
The White Marlin Festival, featuring the Crab Soup Cook-off, is noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Somerset Street Plaza in Downtown Ocean City. For more information, and a look at the next three May weekends, see the Ocean City, Maryland, Blog.

Yes! The Ocean City, Maryland season has finally begun. My kids and I participated in the Beach Cleanup, and though they whined at first, we all ended up having a great time. I look forward to spending more time in Ocean City, Maryland this summer!
